Overview

The rationale for the Palaeolithic diet stems from the evolutionary discordance hypothesis- that our Stone Age genetics are ill equipped to cope with our modern diet and lifestyle. This is why in the Palaeolithic diet, foods that would readily be available to our ancestors are acceptable. This includes meat, fruit and vegetables. Food such as grain and dairy products are prohibited.
